The Cyclones continued thier pursuit of a 2010-11 championship as they signed three more key players for this season today to contracts. Two-Time Kelly Cup Champ, Mathieu Aubin resigned as did 2010 Kelly Cup Champ, Kevin Roeder. Brock Sheahan's younger brother Brodie also agreed to a deal.
Mathieu will play his fourth season in Cincinnati amassing 100 points in 94 games. Mathieu was re-aquired by the Cyclones in late March last season for Mark Voakes (Now in Greenville) and Scott Marcashi. Mat skated in 9 regular season games for the Clones' and 24 during the Kelly Cup run scoring 3 goals and collecting 10 assists. "Mathieu will provide us with some offense. He has a winning attitude, and is acustomed to success. The more guys like that in our locker room, the better we are." Said, Jarrod Skalde.
Brodie Sheahan comes to the Cyclones joining his brother Brock after four years at Holy Cross College. Brodie had atleast 10 goals in his final three seasons with the Crusaders. His best season came as a Sophomore with 13 goals and 20 assists. "Brodie will adapt easily from the college level. He is very excited to start his pro career and having his brother here makes that transition even easier." Said head coach, Jarrod Skalde.
Kevin Roeder will return for his second season with the Clones'. Last year, Kevin was marred by injuries but did manage 5 points in his very short season. Roeder played 152 games as a Miami RedHawk in his four years and was a team captain for the National Championship game in 2009 against Boston University. Head Coach, Jarrod Skalde said, " He is a fierce competitor. It excites me how stable he can be on our blue line. He plays fearless back on defense and that's always a plus."
