Aubin leads Cyclones 3-2 over Nailers

Following Friday's debacle
where the Cyclones allowed three goals in the first seven minutes to the Nailers, went down to Wheeling and got their revenge with a  3-2 victory tonight. Mathieu Aubin netted his team leading 11th and 12th goals of the season to lead the Cyclones tonight including slamming home the game winner with 58 seconds left.

The Cyclones would draw first blood tonight at when Chris Minella collected a loose puck in front and slipped it past Patrick Killen. The Clones’ however, could not hold onto the lead for long as not even two minutes later Ben Street tipped home a shot for his 18th of the season to knot the score at 1-1 after 20 minutes.

The Cyclones were able to get a power play in the second period and Mathieu Aubin cashed in adding to his team-leading stats collecting a rebound and slamming it past Killen top shelf for his 11th of the season. Thanks to an outstanding period by Chet Pickard who won his second third straight decision, Cincinnati led periods.
Wheeling used a power play in the third period to perfection as
Ben Street
struck again for his 19th of the year to tie the game at 2-2 with less than 10 minutes to play. With just a minute left in the game, Dustin Sproat forced a turnover behind the Nailers net and fed it out front to Aubin who lifted a laser over the shoulder over Killeen for the game-winning goal. The Cyclones are now 12-1-3 this season when leading after two periods.

Chet Pickard extended his winning streak to three games with his 26 save performance. Pickard came in Friday replacing Marc Cheverie and made 18 saves on 20 shots. Mathieu Aubin now leads the Cyclones with 12 goals and 17 assists while also leading the team with 29 points.
