Clones clip Wings in OT 3-2

Cyclones defenseman, T.J. Fast slammed home his first game-winning goal just 41 seconds into overtime to give the Cyclones a 3-2 win over the Kalamazoo K-Wings. It has extended the Cyclones winning streak to four games.

The Cyclones jumped on the K-Wings in the first period leading 2-0 after 20 minutes. Mathieu Aubin slammed home his team leading ninth goal of the season at 7:20 on the Power Play, when he camped out in front of K-Wings goalie Ryan Nie. Just five minutes later at 12:26, Scott Lehman took the feed from Chris Clackson on a 2-on-1 break and fired the snap shot past Nie for the 2-0 lead.

In the second period, K-Wings forward Patrick Asselin tucked in his 11th goal of the season past Cyclones netminder Chet Pickard on the Power Play. Kalamazoo’s Darryl Lloyd then followed with the game-tying goal midway through the third period to knot the score at two, forcing the game into overtime for the fourth time in this season series.

The OT session didn't last long for the K-Wings as Clones' defenseman, T.J. Fast carried the puck coast to coast dekeing past two Wings defenseman and blasting home his second goal in as many games to give the Cyclones their fourth straight win and first at home against Kalamazoo.

Cyclones goalie, Chet Pickard picked up his second straight victory in a 24 save effort moving his record to 3-6-2 on the season.

The Cyclones are back at home Friday night playing host to the 1st place, Wheeling Nailers who the Cyclones trail by three points in the North Divison.
