In the 2nd, the Nailers really took control over the Clones' who looked like the toll of the first game competition was settling in on them. The Clones again had three power play chances including a two minute 5-on-3 and could not score. Wheeling made it 2-0 when former Cyclone, Kyle Bushee caught a deflected puck off the stick of Ryan Del Monte and buried it behind Smith at 10:15. The Nailers again scored on the power play at 12:58 when Dan Henningson shot it over the glove of Smith from a shot in the slot. At the end of two periods the Nailers held a 3-0 over the Clones with a 21-13 shot lead.
In the final period the Nailers again were able to score on Jeremy Smith to make it 4-0, Mickeal Bedard caught a one-timer from Henningson to put the game out of reach at 9:48. The Clones showed some spark when defenseman, Doug Krantz dropped the gloves with Peter Merth. The Cyclones finally were able to capitalize on a power play at 17:49 of the 3rd when Ryan Del Monte put it past Wheeling goalie, Patrick Killeen. Assists went to Rookie, Brad Schroeder and captain Barret Ehgoetz. The Cyclones (0-1) and Nailers (1-1) will be at it again tomorrow at 7:30 pm in Cincinnati at Northland Ice Arena. Forward, Dylan Hunter and J.C. Sawyer who were not in the line-up tonight will be dressed tomorrow for the Cyclones. The fans will also get a look at Rookie goalie, Marc Cheverie who will start in net.
