After two periods at the Huntington Center in Toledo, the Cyclones trail the Walleye 2-1. After a scoreless first period where the Cyclones clearly looked to be the better team outshooting Toledo 10-6. the Walleye returned for period two looking for control. Early in the second period, Scooter Smith was able to throw a weak shot past the far side of new Cyclone goalie, Chet Pickard.
Later in the second, Pierre Lebrun fired a shot from the right circle that was tipped by defenseman Ryan Stokes into the upper corner over Pickard. The Cyclones would answer with 36 seconds left in the period when 2nd year pro, Brett Robinson took a pass from captain, Barrett Ehgoetz and slipped it over the glove of Scott Campbell. After two the Cyclones heavily outshooting Toledo 23-14, while the Walleye hold the 2-1 edge on the scoreboard.
