Rochester assigns T.J. Fast and NCAA Goalie of The Year

The Cincinnati Cyclones defending ECHL Kelly Cup Champions and proud affiliate of the Nashville Predators and Florida Panthers announced today that they have recieved, Defenseman T.J. Fast and Goaltender Marc Cheverie.

Fast a former 2005 2nd round NHL selection of the LA Kings, comes to Cincinnati after spending the last two years splitting time between Alaska (ECHL) and Peoria (AHL).  While with the Aces, Fast finished second among all team defensemen – posting 31 points (10 goals, 21 assists) in 46 games.  Upon being called up to the AHL level, Fast notched one assist in 18 contests.  Before turning pro Fast played two years with the Tri-City Americans (WHL) and two years with the Denver Pioneers (NCAA)

Cheverie was a 7th round pick in the 2006 NHL Draft by the Florida Panthers and just finished his Senior season at Denver University. In 2009-10, he posted a 24-6-3 record, a 2.08 goals-against average (GAA), a 93.2% save percentage, and six shutouts.  Among other accolades, he was named a Hobey Baker Award Top-10 finalist, a Reebok First-Team West All-American, and the Inside College Hockey Goaltender of the Year.  In his two seasons as a starter, the six-foot-two netminder led the Pioneers to a 47-18-8 record with a 2.22 GAA.
